Ghosts
Yesterday I went for a big walk with Charlee down to visit a friend Nikki. We began to talk about spirits which is a topic I am interested in. Nikki was telling me that her Nana woke up on two different occasions and the first seen her dead brother just standing there and then the next time her dead sister. I said to Nikki if you ask almost anyone and their honest they will tell you they have had a spiritual experience. Even my pessimistic father lived in a house that had an extra residence and she would walk along the veranda. The dog would bark it's head off and then she would be gone. So isn't it funny that people still are skeptical to just accept that there is an after life and some spirits hang around and other are never seen again. Wouldn't it be fascinating to know why. Since Mrs Halls has passed Joe has had many experiences with her mother. Joe had all the windows in the house closed and there were Chinese wind chimes hanging from the curtain rod. One day she went outside and all of a sudden she heard the chimes blowing like crazy she ran inside and there was Coby (her son) in front of the TV and there was smoke coming out of the DVD player. If those chimes hadn't made a noise that DVD would of blown up with little Coby right there. How did the chimes chime there was no breeze as the house was completely closed up. Coby talks to his nan quite a bit the other day Joe said that he was having a full blown conversation with her in the bedroom. Isn't it awesome to think that even if he won't remember he's obviously got his nan right there beside him. I myself have had heaps of tell tale signs that we have other energies around us. I say energy because that is what I feel. When Mrs Halls passed I was at work and I bent down to put a pie in the oven and all of a sudden I felt a massive surge of energy, like someone had jumped right at me. I screamed and there was no one there. I couldn't stop thinking about it and then Jason rang to tell me she was gone. Another time I went to visit an old lady called Maud and her husband had passed away a few weeks before hand. She was showing me around the house and she took me into one of the bedrooms as I sat on the bed all this heavy, heavy depressed feeling came over me. I felt so upset I said to Maud is this Ted's old room and it was. I had to get out it gave me the creeps because I'd never felt something so strong before. I could go on and on and on but I will tell you what Nikki told me yesterday. She said she was staying at a friends house when she was younger and she said the house had a creepy feeling to it. She went to sleep and woke up to a figure with a shawl on just standing in the room. Nikki was terrified it didn't move so poor Nikki put the blanket over her head and eventually went off to sleep. The next morning she was at the b'fast table and told her friend and the mother and the mother said she had seen it before. The picture at the top has always haunted me it's called Menen Gates at Midnight by Will Longstaff. It's from the Australian war museum and has an amazing story behind it. In 1927 there was a memorial set up in Belgium to remember the 350 000 soldiers who had died in the battles around Ypres. The artist went to the ceremony and watch the unveiling and couldn't sleep so at midnight he went for a walk along Menin road and saw the vision of steel-helmeted spirits rising from the corn fields around him. So Will Longstaff went back home and painted the picture in one session. I wish you could see it more closely it's truely amazing and haunting.
If anyone has got any experiences they want to share leave a comment I would love it.

Gratitude day
Today I have had an awesome day a few good things have happened (Why did I pick a photo of old Nana smoking a joint well it looks to me like she's having an awesome day too)1. I booked in 5 parties and then just waiting for a friend who house has no railings around the verandah to work out how she can have a party. Well being the problem solving legend I am I could get my friend to invite old joint smoking Nana and blow the smoke around the room and hopefully all the kids will fall asleep and then no one would fall off the verandah. Who said I'm not wise.
2. I asked Riley if he had a good day at preschool and he said "No not really mummy I just stood around and waited for you all day" Just melts ya heart doesn't it then I complained about having a sore elbow and he said "How did you do that you poor old darling" What a fantastic age his at.
3. There's a little boy at Preschool and he had a lot of allergies and looks a bit lonely. I said to Riley is Jason ( the little boy) your friend and Riley said No. Why? I asked and Riley said " he doesn't talk to me" I thought how many times do you think that someone doesn't like you because they don't talk to you. They could be shy, have no confidence or feeling exactly the same way that you do. So I gave Riley a mission I told him to go up to Jason and say "hello how are you today would you like to play" and I said to him that's the way you make friends you go up and say hello first. Hopefully that sets a foundation for the rest of his life, to realize to be the one to make people feel at ease and you will always have mates.

CHEER ME UP

Photo's courtesy of the beautiful Zyra
Today I need cheering up. I drove into the driveway yesterday and there were old pieces of timber that had been sitting there beside the carport for 2 months. I looked a bit further up and there were old electrical wires sitting in a heap under a bush. On the path that goes around the house was 5 old paint tins an old rusty chair, a box full of fire wood. Then beside the rubbish bin was an old stool and some more junk. I went upstairs and I said "Jason I don't mind you collecting crud just please keep it in the shed" sounds fair doesn't it. Well not according to him well when I keep the house tidy he will tidy up his rubbish. Which is easier said than done when you have a toddler and a 10 month old baby. According to Jason (I have now been told a lot of other men think the same) women sit at home and do nothing when shes is a stay at home mum. Today I arose and thought right I'm gonna teach you a lesson and I said "Jason today I am not looking after the children I will sew and relax and you can do it since I do nothing. Well the poor little buggars have sat and watch tv ( which I don't agree with in the day)
So why is this blog called cheer me up? I googled the words and I landed on the weirdest site I have ever seen (apart from a site for witches in Ipswich and they were wearing a pointed hat and had close up pictures of their nipples) It's a lady (well mmm!) called Zyra and she Say's that her pictures can cheer people up. Make up your own mind. Well Zyra, I thought you were a little strange until I read your inventions and then I Knew you were a little strange.
These are 3 of Zyra's amazing inventions
1. Using a gerbil as a paper shredder
2. Because people tend to look at deaf people as senile he oops she has come up with headphones instead of hearing aids so they look like groovy music addicts (did she think it would be a bit awkward at a dinner party)
and my fav one
3. Penguin Keys if you are looking at your computer keyboard and think it needs to be glamed up why not copy and paste a picture of a little penguin (up top of page if you would like to do it yourself) and print it out and glue onto your keyboard. (wow she should be on the new inventors)
THANK YOU SO MUCH ZYRA YOU DEFINITELY CHEERED ME UP

2 AWESOME DAY'S
I have just had the most amazing two days up in Brisbane. There were 4 separate speakers each talking about a different section of your life. I have only been to a Tony Robbins seminar before and this was 10 times better. It was focused solely on women and you could feel the unity in the room. I walked into a room full of 100 strangers and boy did I feel uncomfortable. Because I'm blind as a bat I sat down at a table at the front and began talking to the ladies there and they were lovely. Then Lyndsey got up on stage and told us all to move and I sat next to a lady called Lisa and that was it she was my brand new friend and she was heaps funny. The first speaker was Laurie fitzgerald from under cover wear and that was really interesting telling us how to make our business boom (which I don't have a business yet) and then we were all told to get up and stand in a huge circle. What we had to do was make eye contact with a person in the circle who we would like to get to know. When Lyndsey said go we had to approach that person and if they picked someone else we had to keep going until we found someone who wanted to get to know us. It was very awkward and uncomfortable because we stood there for about 15 minutes just looking at everyone and hoping someone would choose us. Well Lyndsey said go and this lovely lady called Lin came straight up to me. Then we had to do it again and the strange thing was that it wasn't half as hard the second time around. It was a big Aha moment as I realize that women all feel the same, we all feel awkward and want someone to single us out and talk to us in a crowded room. We want to made to feel special. After that we took a break for lunch and me and my new cool banana friend Lisa went upstairs and it was the first time in my life that I talked to heaps of people and didn't feel awkward and it's now 3 days later and I went to playgroup today and made more friends today than I ever have at playgroup.
Then it happened I fell totally in love with the next speaker ERIN CASH She is a 34 year old 5 ft size 6 with muscles bulging out everywhere came on the stage and you know what she was crrrrraaaazzzyyyyyy. She was leaping around like a thunder bird she was telling a story about the internal organs and had a different voice for the 8 organ she was talking about. She reminded me of the energizer bunny just not as furry. Yes yet again another aha moment if anyone knows me they would know that I'm a little different maybe a little strange in a good way. Here I was watching this unusual person in front of me and I looked around at the audience and they were as besotted as I was. Gee people love people who are just themselves no airs or graces just being me is enough.
The next day Linda (flame) gave us a talk about how to become a millionaire. Well 2 tips that I got was if you save $7.15 every day and after one year you will have $2600 then put that into a compound interest account with 10% interest and don't touch it for 30yrs. YOU WILL BE A MILLIONAIRE. The second tip was make sure the account your mortgage comes out of is the account that your salary goes into. It will take 8 years off a 30 year loan because your interest is calculated daily. So say if you get paid $4000 a month then the interest you will pay will be $4000 less on that day until you draw it out.
All and all it's the best 2 days and I feel a massive change which I have never felt before. Generally I will read something and it and I think wow and the change will last a day.
The next convention is August the 25th in Brisbane if your there go go go.

click on the above link and then click on direct selling and small business convention on the left hand side.
This is where I am going tomorrow and I can't wait. A while ago I went away with some friends to stay up on the Sunshine Coast and Riley at the time was being so difficult. I won't go into it but we left early and as I was travelling back to Brisbane I kept getting the image of essentially for women in my head. I had a friend tell me about Lyndsey Baigent the owner of "Essentially for Women". When I got home I picked up the phone and rang up Lyndsey and there I was the following Monday at a meeting. Lyndsey holds meetings once a month and th;y are fantastic. Lyndsey gives you the skills and tools you need to live the best life ever. She has a members only section on her web site and it's regularly updated with the amazing things she teaches. When I discovered that she was doing this small business convention I was so excited. Remember one of my goals is to run a successful business from home. The guest speakers are amazing there is Laurie Fitzgerald from undercover wear who does over $100 000 in sales annually. Lyndsay Baigent who's very successful in Diva cosmetics, she was the first person to bring the products to Brisbane. Her team still turns over $1000000 in sales annually. Linda Lee Byrnes who was Flame from Gladiators is coming to talk about making money (yes yes I can't wait) and finally Erin cash who will be talking about fitness and grooming. This interests me as I need all the help I can get. I can't wait so I'm desperately trying to find a tiny tape recorder so I can ask them all a few questions. I head up to Brisbane today and come back on Tuesday waa hoo!!!

Things I am grateful for
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read my blog on happiness and click onto the years are short link. I am so grateful for watching that. I generally leave my daughter Charlee to crawl around and amuse herself because I want her to be more independent than Riley. After watching that I gave her the biggest hug and squeeze. If you haven't watched it spend one minute treating yourself.
I love laughing and who doesn't. I don't know why but lately when Riley's cracks his usual 15 tantrum's a day I laugh instead of getting mad and you know what? Ever since I've done that the tantrum's seem to be decreasing. Isn't it funny that if you get up in a happy mood your children and everyone around seems happy mmmmm!!!!the law of attraction
April is a month of the year which I absolutely love. It reminds me of September as you can still feel the last breathe of summer combined with the creeping autumn chill. April's the perfect time to bring out your winter accessories and wear them with your summer outfits to make an ensemble more interesting. Above is a cool winter scarf I want it.
So that's my gratitude list for the week.

Happiness
I decided to look through the internet to discover what wonderful tools they have to increase one's happiness and I came upon this video. Check it out click on the link below
YouTube - The Years Are Short Movie it only goes for one minute and worth it.
There is a site called zen habits that covers everything from getting your goal accomplished to how to turn karma around
Another site is dumb little man which gives you daily tips to save money, get more inspired and just everything you need to live a sensational life
An awesome site is 101 things in 1001 days where you write 101 things you want to achieve and obviously do it in 1001 days (just under 3 years). You write your list and then you can monitor yourself. It's a great motivator that you know people are reading your blog you feel like you have to do it (fantastic).
If you just need a big belly laugh check out this
Ok I hope you click on all of the above links especially and I am begging you watch "The years are short" especially if you are a parent.

What now?

Today I checked my emails for the info on the menu and shopping list from the raw diva's site and clicked on it and found to download the info it would cost money. Well I was a little disappointed as they say that's it a free detox. I know just cough up the money, well NO! it's the principle. So my head is actually spinning at the moment I want to start, so damn it I will. I think I will begin very gradually because my diet at the moment consists of heaps of coffee, cereal, dim sims and chili & garlic sauce (my new favourite thing) my cooked meal at night (last night was veal parma and mashed potato) and wine or beer. So imagine if I just began tomorrow eating all these healthy treats my body would explode or my head would, either one. So I will slowly begin to limit myself from one thing at a time. MMMM so what will be my first thing. Well I love to eat healthy at breakfast but cereal is hard for me to even look at and some days I have to make myself eat it. So lets begin with b'fast. I will have a juice and fruit up until 10.30am. Not very exciting but it's a start. I will also begin to hunt for a coffee alternative so if anyone knows one that tastes like coffee please let me know. There; I am beginning to think straight now it's quite daunting when you first begin. Well I'm taking the first step and so I'm pretty proud.

LATE BLOOMERS

I have been reading articles about late bloomers, which is a subject which fascinates me. Late bloomers are people that no matter what their ages haven't given up on their dreams. One of the article's was about a beautiful lady called Harriet Doerr. Her first novel "Stones of Ibarra" was published in 1984 and won the national book award. She was 74 when she published the award winning book. Let's have a look at Harriet's life. She was born in 1910 and at the age of 20 went to stanford university. She dropped out in 1930 because she wanted to marry and have children. She raised her children and in the 1950's her husband wanted to move to mexico to put their energy into an old abandoned mine which had been in the family for sometime. Her husband passed away in 1972 and she felt terribly lost so her son Michael suggested to go back to school. So in 1974 at the age of 64 she went back to study and with some encouragement from her family choose to do creative writing.
I will use Harriet's words from an heart warming interview she had with Terence Clarke. "and the first time I had to go to class I panicked. See there were all these 20 year old's ....you know these children going into the class room and I was standing out in the hallway petrified. This old women just standing there in a cloth coat. Me? write? Then the professor came in and he was almost as young as the students. Then the doors closed and I was all by myself in the hallway. All by myself convinced that I should turn around and never go into that class room. But then I remembered Bob Gibson. Bob Gibson? a hall of fame pitcher from the St Louis Cardinals. Gibson had retired in 1975 after a long season with the Cardinals. He gave the impression that he was a mean spirited pitcher who liked nothing better that to punish a hitter. If you got a home run off him you would be sure that next time you came to bat you would be throwing the ball right at you, with the intention of injuring you. He was famous for it, he was feared for it. You see I heard him say on the radio once that he would just humm that mother (ball) in there and just see what would happen. And I thought if it's good enough for Bob Gibson it's good enough for me and that's what I did I opened the door and walked into that class. My plan was to humm that mother right in there, and I did.
Harriet passed away at the age of 92 but how inspirational is she. To think that I began this blog with I'm 34 and I going through a midlife crisis worried my life is flying past me. Gosh I am only 34. I think people tend to think that if they make a decision (eg: starting education at uni) they have 4 years in front of them. But you need to think if you don't love it change until you find something that you do love. Just take that first initial step and give it ago. How much more fun is life when you can say you've tried it instead of never giving it a go. Even if it's for one day. As a quote from a centenarian I read once said "if I had known I would live t0 100 I would have taken up the violin at 40 and I would of been playing for 60 years" Profound. I found these stories of late bloomers so inspiring and I feel like a spring chicken again.

THE RAW MODEL
This is Anthony the raw model Yes not the most appealing photo's but it's the before raw food and after one month of being on raw food. I have just listened to an interview with Anthony and the more I listen the more I am impressed and want to find out more about the benefits. See I have always wanted to become a vegetarian and for almost a year when I was living in Cairns I never ate meat. My mother came to visit me and nearly fell over she said I looked sick. Next thing I knew she cooked up a pot of beef stew and I ate it. The next day I felt fantastic and realized that I need to either eat meat or substitute correctly. Friday, March 7, 2008
